Free Youras Ziankovich

The new administration has freed another American, this time from Belarus, but once again, there’s another American Left Behind.

Youras Ziankovich has been detained in Belarus for almost four years. In 2021, before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ziankovich was picked up outside of his hotel near Moscow by four men in plain clothes. They drove for over 400 miles from Moscow to Minsk, Belarus, where he was accused of planning a coup against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The evidence is pathetic and includes an obviously doctored video with overdubbed audio spouting archaic anti-Semitic tropes that don’t line up with Ziankovich’s lip movements at all. Ziankovich has no ties to the American government. His alleged co-conspirator is a literary critic.
